I Love The Sales

I Love The Sales

January is one of my favourite shopping months because there are so many great sales and bargains to be had! My friends and I always hit the boxing day sales even though they can be a a bit manic as a sort of New Year’s tradition…but now January is coming to an end and so are the sales 😥 or at least that is what I thought before I discovered Love The Sales- Q for boyfriend and bank balance to simultaneously let out a sigh of relief…

Love the Sales is a website that brings together the sale items from 500 of the biggest UK retailers. I wanted to dedicate this post to this amazing little corner of the internet because I think that everyone should know about them. They offer 75% off on some of the most incredible pieces, from Michael Kors bags, Missguided dresses, Armani watches and All Saint scarves. Fashion and shopping lovers, I tell you, they have it all!  There are so many pieces that would usually be super expensive which you can find for under £15 – It’s just the perfect place for finding some great looks because you can shop all the stores in one place! The products listed change daily, there are just so many great bargains to be had, from homeware and electronics to clothes, I really couldn’t recommend them enough!

Hurray! Finally sales all year round!

So here I am wearing a sick mesh panelled knitted dress that I had my eye on for a long time from Missguided, that I got from Love the Sales, in the sale! Today it was really sunny, so I wore it around East London and styled it with a wide brimmed hat and sequinned creepers.

Let me know what you think and thank you always for your amazing comments 🙂

Happy New Year everyone! It’s that time of the year again when we start choosing our New Year’s resolutions, dusting off the trainers and stocking the fridge up with salad and fruit! I would say that I don’t do resolutions, but let’s be honest OF COURSE I DO! Insert Awkward Monkey Emoji! In fact I love starting off the New Year in a super positive way. I always find that after a period of eating until I can no longer fit my trousers, January is always a good month to start a fitness regimes or diets and although I don’t tend to follow it through for the whole year, it feels good for the short time that I do do it! Better something than nothing right?! Do you have any 2016 resolutions and do you usually stick to them?

2015 has such an amazing year and I hope that 2016 will be even more exciting! In September I  finished my final law exams, the professional exams needed in order to be a fully qualified solicitor and Gustavo, my boyfriend and I, now live together 🙂 Finishing my exams gave me the freedom to dedicate more time on blogging and after a great summer travelling around Europe with Gustavo, My Girls On Tour was made an official blog of London Fashion Week by the British Fashion Council. One thing I would love for 2016 is to spend more time at home in France and also to see more of my friends! This past year I got to meet so many new friends, fellow bloggers and readers who share similar passions and interests and I hope to meet many more of you in 2016!

In this post I wanted to share some pictures of some of my 2015 highlights, from Christmas with my family and making new friends, to having over 100,000 of you sharing my dreams and adventures with me on social media and here on the blog. It has truly been a blessing attending so many amazing events and having the opportunity to work with so many great designers and some of my favourite brands. In fact I have been working really hard on some exciting new projects that I can’t wait to share with you in 2016! The blog that I started less than 2 years ago has completely changed my life and I can’t wait to continue this magical journey with you!

Happy New Year everybody! May 2016 bring you and your loved ones joy, happiness, success and may it be the year when all your dreams come true ❤

Love, Abi xxx

Two days ago I had the best day out at Winter Wonderland with Farfetch and met 5 super cool bloggers who all love fashion and who were so nice! The day was awesome, we went on the biggest fairest wheel, an ice kingdom, we drank hot chocolate and went ice skating. It was just so much fun, I can’t wait to introduce my new blogger friends to you and to share all our pictures and photos with you soon.

Meeting other bloggers is one of the things that I love most about blogging and I am forever grateful that I started My Girls On Tour and that I am now part of  such an awesome community. When I first started I had no idea that there were so many amazing blogs which are all so unique and really different, so it has been a real dream to getting to know the creators behind them, reading your comments and making friends with so many of you.

So here are some photos that I took when I was out with fellow fashion blogger Georgina, the founder of Georginahart.co.uk in Shoreditch, shortly after  I met her at London Fashion Week! It was quite cold so I decided to wear a camel coloured wool jacket  and leather trousers with detail on the knees. I thought that the leopard print shoes combined well with the faux-fur trim of the coat and gave off a jungle animal type of vibe, perfect for city life, because after all, what is the city if not one big concrete jungle.

Have you met anyone from the blogger community, perhaps one of your readers or someone who’s blog you love?

Let me know, Abi xxx

Wow! We have had such an exciting week with so many great meetings and we have been working on some super exciting projects that I can’t wait to share with you, but first I wanted to share with you the last day of our Madrid trip!

Our time in Madrid was truly fantastic, we followed in footsteps of Naomi Campbell, Penelop Cruz and Jimmy Carter and ate churros with hot chocolate at the most famous Chocolateria, Chocolateria San Gines. We played golf, had Tapas and enjoyed evenings with our family and friends.  Probably one of the highlights of our trip, or at least the one that would impact my day to life forevermore, was getting my first pair of prescription glasses, because I hadn’t realised but after doing an eye test, I was and still am, actually pretty blind. Now that I have my glasses, I’ve realised that things far away ( TV, paintings in a museum, people) were a bit of a blur, like in those Specsaver adverts where people kiss strangers on the train platform…Yes that was me…but NO MORE! * Victory Fist Pump! Thanks to Gustavo and his parents who bought me the glasses, I can now see the world and Madrid in HD! Hurray for Specs!

So, now that I had been given the gift of sight, there were so many great shops and beautiful streets left to explore, but my parent’s voices kept resounding in my head ” Abi…Make sure you go to El Prado to see the Vilazquezs and the Goyas”…  I had put it off for too long and now on our last day I could ignore it no longer… So in true good girl fashion, on our last day, we set off in search of some serious culture. We took the train to Sol and walked passed the Jamon and the Wine Shops and made our way passed the impressive Congress towards a beautiful tree lined boulevard. We went first to the famous Reina Sofia National Museum to admire Picasso’s impressive and most powerful painting Guernica and the most amazing collection of Salvador Dali paintings. I could have stayed here for days admiring the all the modern art but, after a quick stop off in the shaded museum garden, we walked back towards the beast…towards El Prado.

We waited until 6pm to go to El Prado, because it is free to get in after 6pm and although the queues was pretty long to start with, they soon died down. El Prado is Spain’s national museum of art and features one of the world’s finest collections of European Art. The building itself was very beautiful, it had large columns, vaulted ceilings and incredibly wide corridors. We got to see the Goya’s and the Velazquez’s in all their glory, my favourite being of course Las Meninas by Velazquez… it was an incredible experience and definitely a must if you visit Madrid!

Whilst we waited we enjoyed the incredible views of the Ritz Hotel and took pictures of the most beautiful church tucked away behind the museum.  It was still pretty hot, so I wore a lace French Connection Top with Spanish floral espadrilles, Zara jean shorts and a Louis Vuitton Clutch Purse and I of course took with my Affelou glasses so that I could admire the masterpieces! Don’t forget the Macaroon Phone-Cover from I-Paint Store! 🙂

I hope you like my new specs! 🙂 Happy Sunday Everybody xxx

NERD ALERT! FUN FACTS! 🙂

  • El Prado features one of the world’s finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 19th century, based on the former Spanish Royal Collection, and unquestionably the best single collection of Spanish art. Founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture in 1819, it also contains important collections of other types of works. El Prado is one of the most visited sites in the world, and is considered one the greatest museums of art in the world. The numerous works byFrancisco de Goya, the single most extensively represented artist, as well as by Diego Velázquez, El Greco, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens and Hieronymus Bosch are some of the highlights of the collection.
  • The collection currently comprises around 7,600 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 prints and 8,200 drawings, in addition to a large number of other works of art and historic documents.
  • The best-known work on display at the museum is Las Meninas by Velázquez. Velázquez and his keen eye and sensibility were also responsible for bringing much of the museum’s fine collection of Italian masters to Spain, now the largest outside of Italy.
