Wow! If you have been following on Instagram you will be well know that I have been to France, Madrid and Spain twice, have set up an online store which took us to Argentina. Not to mention a whole lot of amazing things have happened in between that I just can’t wait to share with you, but first I wanted to pick up our adventure at London Fashion Week!
The excitement started a few weeks ago when I received my official pass and pack from the British Fashion Council, because YES, My Girls On Tour was chosen as one of the accredited blogs of London Fashion Week! I couldn’t believe it and I was so so happy! I had been to some catwalk shows before but this time I got to go into the Designer Showrooms, backstage and see some of the most anticipated collections of spring/summer 16, an incredible experience that I just can’t wait to share with you!
I was quite relaxed in the lead up to London Fashion Week but then with one day to go, I realised that I hadn’t been to the hairdressers in about 5 months and I had nothing to wear…so the panic set in and the next days became a world wind rush!I went to Brick Lane to check out the vintage shops and boutiques to buy some fashionable things to wear. We arrived at 9am ready for some intense shopping, only to realise that as it was a week day we would have to wait till 11 to shop…11!!!!! Where are we? Cuba?
We had brunch, my favourite Eggs Benedict with Avocado and Cappuccino’s at a cafe opposite Khahaila (also an amazing place for cakes) and waited for the shops to open… I wondered, “is this what addiction feels like”? I was supposed to buy 4 outfits but with only a couple of hours and a bit of a wondering mind it was obviously going to prove too much to pull off… My first purchase was a pair of vintage Levis high waisted hipster jeans from Rockit Vintage, a massive store filled with old vintage clothes and shoes. I loved them but I couldn’t find anything to go with them though… One store particularly stood out for me and that was the Laden Showroom full of amazing new emerging British Designers, such as Typical Freaks, Cami Cuckoo, and The Lazyones with incredibly beautiful pieces at great prices. I loved everything despite having a bit of wardrobe crisis inside the shop and after trying on about 50 things I couldn’t face asking the store manager to put any more things back…I did however buy my outfit that I wore on my first day which I can’t wait to share with you!
After the only semi successful shopping trip, I then got home and panic called Reids my favourite hairdressers and the conversation went something like this:
“What do you mean you have no space this afternoon?… Yes I know it is 3pm already…Ok, what about tomorrow morning?…What!? You only have time for half a head of highlights?!”….long pause… (an intense Dear Diary moment if ever there was one).. OK, I’LL TAKE IT! If anyone asks I’ll just have to say it’s a new type of ombre…SORTED! 😉
