Kimono Style Jumper and Geisha slip ons

imageI love wearing short jean shorts, especially when it is hot like it was yesterday. I feel really comfortable wearing them at the beach or abroad, but there is something awkward about wearing short shorts in a city where lots of people are wearing suits and still haven’t got out of their winter clothes. From walking up escalators to finding a seat on the upper deck of the bus, the last thing I want to think about is whether my bum is on show to the world. So I’ve found that the best way to get rid of this insecurity is to wear a long kimono or cardigan, which gives the whole outfit a more sophisticated look and also adds some varying lengths to the look. As my legs are less exposed, I love to wear this look with heels or in this case with my Guess Geisha style slip ons which I bought recently. The shoes are comfortable and the wedge makes them feel more like a real shoe instead of flip flops. I decided to wear the blue and white stripped sailor sea dog top for a number of reasons. Firstly it would be easy to roll up for sun bathing time in the park. Secondly my sister just won her first ever sailing race, so it was the perfect time to dress up a bit like Captain Hook. Added to that was the fact that we had just spent the previous day at the sea and the details on the top of the shoes include an anchor. Let me know what you think of this look 🙂

These pictures were taken at my local park, Victoria park which has been greatly renovated thanks to the money from the Olympics. I particularly love the sculptures made out of organic material that rise out of the lake, the Pavillion which does an excellent cooked breakfast and just walking around the grounds and enjoying the Chinese style Pagoda. Little birds chirped and people rowed boats along the water.

I am an ex-professional tennis player and have just graduated from King's College in London. I share daily fashion outfits and stories of my travels and the tour. Every story has a beginning, but I will start mine here, at the start of something big. For us this was a journey of a lifetime, where dreams were made and broken, where friendships were cherished and torn apart. We lived and still live the life of aspiration and we tell the tale of victories and defeats that come with growing up at such a young age on the brink of greatness and fame. In our world youth, beauty and riches combine. We trained hard but played even harder. Our parties’ were and always will be legendary, our travels exotic and carefree. We were becoming stars. My Girls On Tour showcases street style looks, avant-garde fashion, new designers, fashion shows as well as travel stories and adventures. A fun window into the glamorous world of a professional tennis player turned fashionista, this is the place for wonderlust and fashion inspiration. Instragram @abigirlx Twitter @Abigailroyston

  1. Good looking food there! I’m just getting back into the blogging mood as High School is out for the summer and I’ve been traveling around, looking for things to blog. Nice post 🙂
