River Island Crush – French print, thick knit and gold accessories

Don’t you just hate it when designers get things completely and utterly wrong. I find this mainly happens when I have popped out last minute to look for something to wear that evening or else on my holiday (departing 9am the following day) and try as I must, I just can’t find ANYTHING that I like. Please tell me you have experienced this also? But other times, usually when the bank balance is particularly low, I find myself walking into a shop and just falling in love with everything. The best thing about when this happens is that as all the clothes are from the same collection, everything matches and can be worn together! When I walked into River Island a week ago, this is exactly the feeling that I had. What drew me in was a bright yellow blazer and from then on I feel in love more times than Kim Kardashian has said “I do”.

Many of their white cotton t-shirts had bold black lettered prints on them. Now I’m not usually a fan of random french words like “Je t’aime” or “Chic”. After all I wouldn’t walk around with a huge exotic sounding “I love you” stamped across my breasts. However, their shape, soft cotton fabric and rolled up sleeves would look really nice both dressed down with jeans and sneekers but also dressed up with heels and a blazer. Perhaps even the yellow one by the door that I had seen earlier.

I then made my way over to the jeans section. Baby blue skinny jeans, perfect for spring looked over at me lovingly. What I love about these are the way that the upturn at the bottom is white. Finally, I couldn’t resist a gold and cream bangle bracelet.

So here I have dressed down the t-shirt and jeans by wearing them with sneakers and a knit scarf. I really think however that the t-shirt would look equally good with dark blue jeans, black heels and a black blazer. I have also worn this River Island top with my Welcome to the Urban Jungle Outfit. The yellow blazer, what had brought me into the shop in the first place, was quite expensive and it didn’t have buttons which I always miss and so it had to be left behind 😦
